Crouching Tiger Hidden Entrance -keres khan
What about you and your program?
After you watch this short video, think about your
classroom, program, and your students. What do you do to make students welcome?
What can you do to enhance your classroom and your program?
I like to have my information written or typed on the white/chalk board. I usually ask a thought-provoking question to wake up the senses and I am usually standing welcoming each person into the room with a smile and an additional "what's your name?"
I’m very lucky that I have an office with large windows, lots of light, plants, and artwork – it all comes together to create an atmosphere that makes students feel welcome. It’s even a bit messy so that students are comfortable and relaxed. We sit around my table (I don’t have a desk) and talk, work on their assignments, and consider how to make academics more rewarding with less of a struggle.
A welcoming phrase printed on brightly colored paper posted so that it is the first thing a student sees when he/she walks through the door.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your idea! Could you share an example of a welcoming phrase you use?

ReplyDeleteThanks for your good idea - can you give an example or two about your thought-provoking question you use?
