Stuck on an Escalator Question
 
What do you do in your classroom to promote critical thinking and problem solving skills?

  1. I do not teach students, but help them to transition form GED to whatever it is that they want to do afterward. Many want me to make that decision for them. Instead of telling them what I think, I utilize the On Course Wise Choice Process. It begins with me asking the question "what is there present situation?" After they explain then I ask them "how they would like it to be, and what are their possible choices?" We discuss the outcome of each choice, and which one's they might following through with. If it is the students idea, the more likely they will commit to what they have started.
